Can I have Hope for Tomorrow?
It’s true, this world is full of uncertainty. The leaders of the world do not have the ability to solve the world’s complex problems. We may be in a place where our health is utterly failing. Our world may seem to be completely falling apart. So where do we look? Can we have any hope?
No matter how strange and dire and distressing this world gets, God can impart peace and hope that transcends the circumstances of this world. “His peace surpasses all understanding” and He “shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).
God has promised to give us...
Strength to endure, peace in the storm, and hope for a beautiful, safe, happy future with Him!
Jeremiah 17:7 - "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is."
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Deuteronomy 31:6 - "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 41:10 - "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
How can I have a strong foundation?
In Luke 6 Jesus uses the example of two men, each building a house upon different foundations. One man digs deep down to solid rock and from there builds his house. The other man builds his house on the sand. A storm hits each house. The house with the solid rock foundation withstands the storm and the house on the sand collapses (Luke 6:46-49).
Only God knows what will withstand the storm and it comes down to the foundation we build upon. Jesus tells us that the man who builds upon the rock “comes to Me and hears My sayings and does them” ( Luke 6:47-48).
In the Bible, the rock is symbolic of Jesus Christ (Psalm 18:2; Isaiah 28:16; 1 Corinthians 10:11; Ephesians 2:20; 1 Peter 2:4-8).
The strongest foundation we could ever have is Jesus Christ.
When we build our goals, our perspectives – our lives – upon Jesus and His Word we will not be washed away in the floods of life.
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word will not pass away.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Does God love me just as I am?
Jesus accepts us just as we are! “All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God,” nevertheless “the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ” (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23). There is nothing we can do to earn the gift of eternal life “for by grace are we saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
There is no place we can go that Christ’s love cannot reach. No matter what you have done, Jesus is calling you into His embrace. It might seem impossible, “but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:23-26). Jesus has opened heaven’s doors for you and gave Himself so that you can be saved. And He did all this while you/we were living in rebellion and animosity towards Him (Romans 5:6-11). Can God forgive even your sin? Yes!
The Bible says:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
“For God so loved the world (you) that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world (or to condemn you), but that through Him the world (you) might be saved” (John 3:16-17; parentheses added). All you have to do is receive by faith God’s love and gift of salvation.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God’s love and grace is designed to change us (2 Corinthians 3:18). Once we recognize and receive the love gift of God, we are to let Him transform us, empower us to live for Him.
Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men. 3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Will God forgive my sins?
The Bible says:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Psalms 103:1-6.
“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
The LORD executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.”
